Since the 1970s, researchers have been studying the restorative power of floatation therapy. Floaters enter into a float pod containing eight hundred pounds of Epsom salt dissolved in skin temperature water – very similar to the natural properties of the Dead Sea. The salt water density allows the floater to float effortlessly while their head remains buoyant so that the nose and mouth stay above the water level at all times.
Both the water density and water temperature create a sensation of weightlessness. If desired, the float pod can also be void of both light and sound. This unique sensory-free environment relieves the brain of outside stimulus and allows your body and mind to enter into a profoundly deep state of relaxation until you reach the theta wave state, a state associated with REM sleep and usually involving vivid imagery, very clear, creative thoughts, sudden insights and inspirations or feelings of happiness.
Float enthusiasts the world over praise floating for its incredibly positive effects including improved health, vitality and well-being, enhanced mindfulness and creativity, and better athletic performance with increased energy and faster muscle recovering.

How long should I float?
Sessions are booked in 60-minute blocks, however you determine the length of your session and may end your session at any time by simply getting out of the tank. Floaters generally report that it takes 30 minutes for their bodies to settle down and for their brains to start to transition from beta or alpha brainwaves to theta state. Many use the extended theta state as a tool for enhanced creativity, problem solving or for super learning. The more often the tank is used the longer the theta period becomes and experienced floaters sometimes float for several hours at a time!
What if I’m claustrophobic or afraid of the dark?
These are natural concerns. Remember, you are in full control of your experience at all times. You may float with the light on, leave the float pod door open, and exit the pod whenever you wish. There is no correct method to floating except for the way that is most effective and comfortable for you.
Is the water clean?
Very clean! Epsom salt is a natural sterilizing agent. The entire volume of water is filtered three times between float sessions and a constant level of 100 ppm of hydrogen peroxide is maintained so that the water is absolutely clean and safe. Every client is required to shower on site before entering the tank.
